Hello brothers and sisters you know there are certain parts of your bible pages that are so ripped up, or not even there, because you have lived in those passages for so long. Matthew 4 is one of those passages. I think I’ve lost the whole book of Daniel, the whole book e2 or 3 times. But Matthew 4 describes the fast of Jesus. He goes into the fast 40 days, and this is what strikes me as interesting, it says He overcomes, the devil leaves him, and angels minister to Him. Maybe you won’t see anything during the fast, but I want you to believe that God is going to send angels, you may not see them, but God is going to strengthen you, and minister to you, and give you assistance, and bread from heaven, an angelic encounter. I want you to have faith that on the other side of the mountain, there is a rainbow, there is revelation, and there is a reward from heaven.
But this was the reward of Jesus, can you imagine this, “and when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he departed to Galilee and leaving Nazareth and he came and dwelt in Capernaum. Which is in the sea regions of Zebulon and Naphtali, that it might be fulfilled by the prophet Isaiah, ‘Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, by the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles, the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light; and upon those who sat in the region of the shadow of death a light has dawned.’ “
For years I prayed this, Isaiah prophesied it, this very passage, and Jesus comes out of His fast and literally he is in the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy. But, I’ve always read this as He comes out of the fast and He says, “Those who sit in darkness.” And I thought, oh it’s about America, it’s about Europe, It’s those who sit in darkness. But this is not what it says. It was in Galilee where Jesus revealed himself after the fast, and signs and wonders. Once again, I’m going into the heart of Jesus.
What do you think it feels like to him when the world is praying for the fulfillment of this very passage out of the 40 day fast, that once again, up there in Cesarean Phillipi, over there in Bethel, over there, wherever [haha] there will be an unveiling for the Jewish people. For all the people who sit in darkness a light is going to break out, a revelation of Yeshua like we’ve never seen. I think even the very thought of it cause Jesus to leap for joy. Finally, God’s gentile people are finding His heart for His own people. Father, we cry out in these 40 days that you will unveil Yourself and release a light to those who sit in darkness. Whose eyes have been blinded, that right now, God will bring the day of Romans 11. Lord, ‘when the Jews come to Christ in fullness, It will be like resurrection from the dead.’ Oh Jesus, let a light shine all through the land of Israel. We thank you for the revelation of Yeshua as the Messiah.
